In our school it was very beautiful.
Each 3rd ESO-C student took care of a Pre-school or Primary class. Mine was France. Children were between 3 and 4 years old. I taught them as much as I could
about the European Union and France for one week. They learnt some words in French. They also learnt to sing and dance “Moving” and “Europe’s living a celebration”.
On 12th May children had their faces painted with the French flag. They also waved the small flags that they had painted the week before. I wore a blue shirt with the twelve stars of the Europe Union flag. We went to the playground with the kids.

First three Bachelor students gave a speech in Spanish, English and French. Children waved their flags whenever their country was said.
Then 2nd ESO students danced the song “Europe’s living a celebration” while Clara Mata, a 4th ESO student, was singing it.
Students came to a big Europe map and they shouted “Hooray Europe” in their language after sticking the shape of their country . In the afternoon we had a special French snack and inflated balloons to play. Children behaved very well and were very funny.I was very happy because the children did some drawings for me. It was a day to remember.
Hooray Europe!

EUROPA LEBT!
We have been twenty-seven different countries for a week.

On 12th May we celebrated the Europe Day with all the teachers and all the students of our school. The ceremony was totally fantastic. We’ve been twenty-seven different countries of the European Union for a week. All 3rd ESO-C students and some 3rd ESO-A prepared everything.

It was sunny and very hot. It was really tiring but worthy.

Every class was a different country. Pre-school and Primary students waved the flag of their country in the playground . There was a very big poster of Europe and children had to place the shape of their country on the right place.
Everybody said that the celebration was absolutely fantastic. Our teachers were very surprised (I think they were as surprised as our mates.)
and really happy.
“Why don’t we celebrate another week about something else?” said Javier Lobera, 2nd Primary teacher.
We felt that all our work was worthy. Children’s smile was really special for us.

I really enjoyed it a lot. I was Austrian with my “classmates” for one week and I think we all learnt a lot. We had a fantastic time. I don’t know who had a better time if we or the children.
On Tuesday 12th May, our school had a special celebration. 2nd ESO pupils danced “Europe’s living a celebration”, which Rosa had sang in Eurovision contest in 2001. I had taught the song and the lyrics, which the “Slovenian” boys of my class learned really fast and spectacularly well. On Tuesday 12, we only had to choose two representatives from each class to stick their country shape on a Europe map. Some grown-up students have helped and taught them for a week. They learned a lot of things about the country: some words in their language, food, colours of the flag, etc.Everybody was doing something. While some pupils were helping children, other were rehearsing songs and a few were drawing a big Europe map.

In spite of the high temperatures, people had a really good time. Each group carried a small flag of their country. Some pupils had their faces painted too. Some children of each group shouted "Hurray Europe" in the language of their “adopted” country, and stack the shape of their country on the totally gorgeous map of Europe.
Other students danced and sang some absolutely fascinating songs so everyone played their part.

Some students finished the day having a snack with typical food of each country.
They left the school with a lot of new knowledge about the European Union and their “adopted” country and they showed everything to their parents. Even though it was the first time that the school celebrated this event, it was absolutely brilliant. Everybody was happy. We hope we can celebrate it.

Zaragoza celebrates Europe Day

Zaragoza celebrates Europe Day
Last 12th May Madre María Rosa Molas School prepared several acts in commemoration of the Day of European Union.

Students from 3 to 18 took part in the numerous activities that were celebrated in the morning. They have already measured the Earth radius and visited the city of Pamplona’s Planetarium.

Last month ESO and BTO students were taken to the playground to carry out a mathematic activity.
All students, supervised by teachers of the Science Department, measured the Earth’s radius using a rake and other easy home instruments.
“The activity has been a success”, said the science teacher Juan Luis Cortés. “After contrasting our results, we can say that we were very close to the real data of the Earth radius.”

ESO and BTO students have also visited Pamplona’s planetarium, where they learned about the universe through the day- and night-time sky.
Students learned about planets, giant stars, constellations and other astronomy phenomena.

“The documentary was really interesting. We could learn how constellations were drawn, the origin of horoscope and the god and goddess of the mythology”, said the Rosa Molas students.
These two activities were amazing for teachers and students. This school is an example of how the Astronomy can be an enjoyable and fascinating experience for all ages.

“The Baby Olimpiada shows how to enjoy friendship and sports”

A group of students participated in one the Baby Olimpiada held at Monteragón school.

Yesterday twelve schools from Zaragoza participated in the XIII Baby Olimpiada, organized by Montearagón school.
